Cochin Airport, best in many counts, but may not be wheelchair friendly!

Raised design strips crisscrossing airport floors.

Completed well in time, within original budget cost and beautifully designed, Cochin airport is the only one in the world run fully on solar power.

But the beautiful design and these red oxide strips crisscrossing the floor is a hurdle for wheelchair patients.

Wheelchairs use mostly lifts and it’s really hard to escape these hurdles before reaching the lift doors.

I would think that it’s an oversight, but would be a noble thing if it can be rectified so that the wheelchair passengers could be pulled on smooth surface.

Something the Cochin International Airport Authorities would do well to take a look .
